Start with a small sample folder
Copy a few representative files into a separate test folder. Include a filename with spaces, a subfolder, and a possible duplicate if the task involves renaming or organizing. Keep the originals elsewhere.
Read the side-effect note
Each recipe describes what it reads and creates. A report-only script is different from a script that renames or moves files. For changes to existing files, look for preview behavior and the explicit option that applies the plan.
Inspect the proposed result
Read the source and destination paths in the preview. Confirm how the script handles existing names, links, and nested folders. A preview can reveal an incorrect path before a large batch is touched.
Keep a recoverable copy
Use a separate backup for important files. A newly generated report is easy to recreate; original photos or documents may not be. Verify an archive by inspecting its contents and testing a small restore into another folder.
Make repeated runs predictable
Choose distinct output locations, and avoid placing a generated output inside a recursively scanned source folder unless the script excludes it. Inspect the first run before scheduling another.
Put it into practice
Choose one small task from the library, run its example, and change one thing you understand.
